Start your morning with a touch of wellness with this revitalizing ginger shot, the perfect way to start your day fresh. A morning ginger shot with lemon, turmeric and pepper on an empty stomach offers a potent blend of immune support, anti-inflammatory action, digestive aid, detoxification, metabolic stimulation and natural energy, promoting overall wellbeing.

Serve the shot chilled and experience the tangy fusion of fresh ginger, bright turmeric, a hint of hot pepper and tangy lemon juice. This drink is a powerhouse for your immune system. To enjoy the benefits of this drink, you should drink it on an empty stomach.

Either pour the juice into a large glass bottle and portion out the appropriate amount each day in a small glass or pour the juice directly into small glass bottles in portions. Store the bottles in the fridge. I prepare the juice a week in advance. For one person, that’s 350ml a week. Make the ritual of this ginger elixir your own and greet every morning with a sip of health and happiness.

Description

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT

  • large bowl
  • whisk
  • spatula
  • dough scraper (or blunt knife)
  • casserole dish (or ovenproof dish)

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 350 milliliters lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 7 grams instant yeast
  • 500 grams flour type 00 (pizza flour)
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Place the ingredients in a large bowl in the following order: warm water, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp olive oil, dry yeast. Mix everything well with a whisk.
  2. Now add flour and 1 tsp salt. Mix everything well with a spatula so that the flour is incorporated and the edges can be scraped off. Now cover the bowl with a towel for 20 minutes and leave to rest.
  3. Wet your hands with a little water and grab the dough from four sides one after the other, pull it up and fold it in the middle so that the dough becomes rounder and has tension. Cover the bowl with a towel again and leave to rest for another 20 minutes.
  4. Repeat step 3 and cover the bowl with a towel again, but this time leave the dough to rest for approx. 2 hours.
  5. Sprinkle a little flour on a work surface and place the dough on top and also sprinkle with a little flour. Spread the dough out a little and divide into 8 equal portions. Pull the dough pieces in a semicircle on the worktop so that there is tension on the surface.
  6. Place baking paper on a baking tray and sprinkle with a little flour. Place the dough pieces on top, cover again with a towel and leave to rise for another hour.
  7. Now heat the oven to 230°C (446°F). Place a baking dish or ovenproof dish with water on the bottom of the oven. Instead of the bowl of water, you can also simply pour water into the oven with a spray bottle as soon as the tray is in the oven and then quickly close the door.
  8. Once the oven has heated up, place the baking tray with the rolls in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Then remove the baking dish with water from the oven and bake for a further 10-15 minutes until the buns are golden brown.

Description

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT
  • sharp knife
  • chopping board
  • peeler
  • grater
  • small pot
  • measuring cup
  • juicer (or by hand)

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange
  • 200 milliliter port wine
  • 1 shallot
  • 3/4 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 100 grams fresh cranberries
  • 200 grams redcurrant jelly
  • salt & finely grated black pepper

Instructions

  1. Thoroughly wash and dry the lemon and orange. Peel 3–4 strips from each using a peeler, then slice the peels into fine julienne strips. Juice the orange, aiming for about 100 ml (3 fl. oz.) of juice.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil and simmer the julienne strips for 5 minutes to soften and reduce their bitterness. Drain and set aside.
  3. Finely dice the shallot and grate the ginger directly into the saucepan. Add the port wine, orange juice, mustard, and cranberries. Bring everything to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, lower the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, until the cranberries soften and the liquid reduces.
  4. Next, stir in the redcurrant jelly and continue simmering for another 6–7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and finely ground pepper to taste.
  5. Finally, fold the julienne strips into the sauce and let it cool. The sauce will thicken further as it cools and can be reheated anytime for serving.
